Winger wins six month membership
The Jefferson park and recreation department hosted a free weekend at the Greene CountyCommunity Center. Visitors were allowed to use the community center during regular hours on Saturday, Jan. 4, and Sunday, Jan. 5, without paying the usual daily fee. Even with bitter temperatures, the GCCC was a popular place to be both days, with more than 30 people taking advantage of the event.
Guests were encouraged to sign up for a free 6 month membership drawing; Nancy Winger of Jefferson won the membership.
Those interested in a membership at the Greene County Community Center are encouraged to call 515-386-3412 or stop and talk to staff. Many payment options are available. The community center is open weekdays from 5 am to 9:30 pm, Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 12 to 6 pm.
